Fantasy Football NFL 2011 Season Week 8 Results

Now I will begin comparing the actual results with my program's predicted results each week. The program seems to be getting more accurate and this week it served me well as I won in two of my leagues and only lost in one. The key here is that I was without Aaron Rodgers in my main Yahoo.com league and the program told me to choose, of all quarterbacks, Matt Hasselbeck to fill in. I reluctantly did, and what do you know, the guy scored me 16 Fantasy Football points which isn't much up against Aaron Rodgers but still pretty solid. The bottom line is the program is predicting well in some elements and not well in others. It does not have a way to know if the player is at home or away. And it also does not recognize if players are injured. There are always more things I could code in to improve it.

For Quarterback Rankings, the program nailed two of the quarterback's predicted point values on the head. It correctly predicted four others to be in the Top 10. One quarterback it did predict who mysteriously did not show up was Drew Brees. This is what I would determine to be somewhat of a freak occurance as I find it very unusual that Drew Brees would not be in the actual Top 10.
